When advertising is good
This week was Ad Week in New York and I attended a bunch of sessions, including the Clio Awards hosted by Whoopi Goldberg who was hilarious. There was a recurrent theme, and gladly it was not just data, Facebook, wearables or native advertising. Instead people were talking and showing content around living a better, happier more satisfied life through balance. Arriana Huffington spoke with Richard Davidson about the business benefits of meditation. Tiffany Schlain, founder of the Webbys, filmaker and creator of FutureStartsHere spoke about Technology Shabbat, saturdays without internet. There were also sessions like Post-Digital - the next phase in digital innovation, where Dr Antonia Ward did not speak about devices but about experiences that are human , and the blurring of boundaries between the real & virtual, organic & synthetic, human & robotic.I saw a lot of interesting content, which reminded me of how powerful really good advertising can be. Real insights and quality content. I hope thats the future. Here are some of my favorites from the last few days, even including Adobe Marketing Cloud who sponsored everything with their ad- which was actually quite funny!Guinness - Barnes Sisters Beats by Dre - Game Before the Game The Time You Have (In JellyBeans) OMOTE / REAL-TIME FACE TRACKING & PROJECTION MAPPING Epoca 7 Days Friskies Dear KittenAdobe Woo Woo
