Travelling insomnia & Hong Kong

Its 3-18am Wednesday morning here in Hong Kong, where I arrived this evening from New York. I slept on the 15 hour plane journey, so I guess my body still thinks it's Tuesday afternoon. Hong Kong is 12 hours ahead, so its easy on this trip to keep track with home time, I just need to exchange the am with pm.

I saw Wes Anderson's the Grand Budapest Hotel during my flight and it was a charming film. I am not usually a fan of comedy, but this it the type of film that makes you feel inspired, young and idealistic. the details of script and visuals are meticulous.I have decided that I need to start keeping better track of all my travels for work. Since the beginning of the year I have been outside the US, more than home in NYC or the states. Last week I was in Rome, Italy for 2 great days of strategy meetings that I led with my coworker for our European teams.  I wish I could have stayed longer and spent some real time in the city where I lived almost 20 years ago studying art. Traveling is wonderful, but after 2 1/2 weeks on the road, even Rome is not as fun as going home to your own place, and specially when you need to get ready for the next trip. The next two days will be the same strategy meetings here in Hong Kong for our APAC teams. I have only 1 day to see Hong Kong outside work, so I will try to make the best of it, although arriving last night even without sun - it was hot + humid, not ideal walking conditions. But the city looks amazing. Huge towers everywhere but surrounded by the waters of Victoria Harbor that make things at first glance seem somewhat magical. Some pics from amazing Hong Kong:
