Cannes Future Gazers

About two weeks ago I presented at the Cannes Lions Festival on the topic of ‘Liquid Reality and Real Human Connections.’ The term ‘Liquid Reality’ refers to a concept of fluid and dynamic interaction between different realities, including virtual, augmented, and physical spaces. Similar to terms like ‘Extended Reality’ and ‘Mixed Reality’, my focus for using the word ‘liquid’ was to address the developments in combinatorial technologies like Artificial intelligence, Cloud and 5G which are blurring the lines even more - making it harder and harder to distinguish the borders of reality and truth from fantasy and fiction.

For this presentation, I provide four universal principles for creating real human connections as our physical and digital world continually meld together without border or distinction.
