Virtual World, post Oculus Connect 2

I wish I could transport myself back 2 weeks ago to the Oculus conference, where I had the chance to spend time exploring the new world. If I was living in Real Player One, I would already be there.I believe 100% that virtual reality will become the next Internet, the next platform that will transform how we live, connect and relate to ourselves and those around us. As the Internet has enabled us to find answers to any question, VR will enable us to access any experience. More than just 3-D, VR is a different world, and a world that I see filled with opportunity for everyone, not just gamers.“It’s not a videogame peripheral. “It can change people’s perception of each other.”Virtual reality will be a medium of huge social change says Chris Milk “It’s a machine, but through this machine we become more compassionate, we become more empathetic, and we become more connected, and ultimately we become more human.”At the Oculus conference, I tried 'Touch' - hand controllers that lets you reach out and touch things in virtual worlds. I used Touch on my left and right hands, along with the Rift to create a sculpture in this 3D world - an amazing experience for any artist or anyone in general.As the technology keep improving, the hardware gets smaller, and the content gets better and better - experiences will be endless - from sports, travel, education, medicine- basically everything we do in this universe, we will be able to enhance in the virtual world.The only thing preventing advancement now is experience. People need to experience VR truly and fully, and that is the only way you really get it, buy into, and believe it.
